Google’s Office Suite Software– A Threat to Microsoft, and Other Vendors

Google Software The giant search engine company –Google-has got a boost up when technology consultancy Capgemini has started recommending online suite of office software to its corporate customers, reports Yahoo News

Capgemini has already accepted Google’s software package which includes e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets and calendar management.

Though Paris based Capgemini will keep supporting the products of other vendors including Microsoft, and IBM, yet Google’s entry backed by Capgemini will surely pose a threat to the market share of the big shots.

Hoping to diversify beyond the online advertising market that generates most of its revenue, Mountain View-based Google in February began selling a souped-up version of its office applications for a $50 annual fee per user.

Forrester Research analyst Ray Wang predicts that Google's software package will gain greater credibility now with the approval of Capgemini, and will continue to benefit the small and medium sized enterprises.

Though Google has not got much success in its software market, yet it would definitely be a dominant player with the support of Capgemini which influences the type of software used on more than 1 million personal computers in companies world wide.
